Founded in 1954, Burlington Chemical Company is a leader in the formulation and manufacturing of innovative chemistries. Using these chemistries, our synthetic organic chemists, formulators, and engineers work with our customers to help them design products that are safe for the environment and safe for the end user. We offer formulation assistance, performance testing and benchmarking, and packaging advice.
Headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, Burlington Chemical supports our customers with a direct sales force in North America and a network of distributors internationally.
Our product line includes surfactants, safe acids, stabilized peroxides, protectants, and specialty additives for personal care products, automotive detergents and protectants, metal cleaners, food and dairy products, marine and boat care, odor control, stone and concrete care, household and industrial cleaners and degreasers, and lubricant additives.
A key product line for us is our readily biodegradable surfactants that can be used in “green” registered formulations. We have helped many customers create green formulations for approval by Green Seal, EPA’s Design for the Environment (DfE), and Canada’s EcoLogo program. In addition, we have worked with customers to meet the proposed US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) biobased standards. We can provide data on our chemistries and on formulations based on these chemistries that can assist you in your submission to these organizations. And, we can guide you through the sometimes confusing and very fluid “green” certification movement.
In addition to providing a branded product line, Burlington Chemical offers manufacturing services under toll and custom manufacturing agreements. Chemical product types include alkanolamides, amine condensates, amine oxides, amphoterics, betaines, imidazolines, maleate esters, PEG esters, phosphate esters and their salts, and quaternaries.
